Girl, I've tried it ALL!!! I finally found my dream products! HOORAY!!! First of all, you want HEALTHY hair. I use catwalk honey and oatmeal shampoo by TIGI. Then I use the camera ready defrizzer made by them or biosilk serum. I like both. If you've got a sallys nearby, get some ion styling glaze. It's like 5 bucks. and it ROCKS! Just use a little and comb it through. then dry w/a diffuser. I get compliments all the time. I only use the styling glaze to define the curl a little. I promise, healthy hair is what's attractive. My hair used to look like crap! The past couple weeks, I've been so impressed by my own hair and I get compliments by total strangers in PUBLIC. Also go to a salon and get a trim every 2 months or so. You have to to have healthy hair. rock on.

I always put Bumble and Bumble tonic, then Laminates drops on my hair and wrap it in a towel for awhile to let it dry some, then I work some Garnier Fructis soft curl cream in my hair to define the curl. Not crunchy at all, great texture!

You best bet is to use mousse instead, I use Aussie dual action mousse w/leave in conditioner it works really good, plus if you can get to your local salon and buy some Chi hair serum it works great with the mousse.

There are already a few great ideas floating around here. My personal recommendation, since I have curly hair that requires daily management, is to use pomade instead of hair sprays, mousse and hair gels.

First of all, mousse, hair gels and sprays can leave unpleasant residue in your hair and scalp, which can agitate dry scalps (like mine) and create dandruff. Pomade, which relies on a persistantly moist consistancy, eliminates the grit and crunch of most hair products while making your hair easily manageable and easily managed, not to mention moisturized.

The key to manageable hair is home care. Make sure to use shampoo AND conditioner in the same washing and try to keep your hair as clean as possible for maximum results. Sure, the products best for your hair are more costly, but who's to say that Suave and other less expensive products won't work well too?

In terms of pomade, I recommend the following:

-Got 2B

-Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Forming Cream or Pomade

-American Crew Pomade

-TIGI BedHead Manipulator

In terms of home care, I recommend the following products, which can be costly:

-BioSilk line of products

-Joico Moisture Therapy line of products

-Phyto Shampoo and Conditioner

When I had a perm, I LOVED the spray gel from Redkin! But if thats still too expensive, try the Pantene Pro-V for Curls Spray gel and all the products they have.

Curls Rock by TIGI, its around $16. Its a semi gel/cream mixture that makes curls stay, and they are not crunchy at all. It lasts all day. Best stuff on the market. If that is too expensive, use Garnier curl cream its only $2.99. I can go about 12 hours of so with curl cream. Good luck in ur product search.

The best I've found in over 30 years of having curly hair is NOODLE HEAD by Beyond the Zone. It's only FIVE dollars and you can get it at Sally Beauty. Add a quarter-sized amount to towel dried hair and hit it with a dryer while you gently scrunch upside down. Add more if you think you need it.

You'll get last-all-day, soft, no-frizz curls. The first time I used it I almost cried. Got spiral curls like I haven't had since i was a teenager!

I have naturally curly hair so theirs two ways to go.

What I do is閳?use Pantene curly hair mouse on your hair when its damp and then use any not strong hair gel to help create the style you want when its nearly dry. It works and my hair looks amazing, just remember the stronger the gel, the mre hardening/crunch you get.

My hair stylist suggest that to avoid the hardness/crunch you get from stronger hair gels, what you can try is using the Pantene curly hair mouse on you hair when its damp and again when it drying to help create the style you want. Iv never tried it personally but she says it gives you lovely soft curls

i really like this stuff called LOTS OF CURLS by la bella it works really well for me and i have reallllly curly ringlet hair and its always frizzy untill i put that stuff on it its not very costly either
