How to keep the gel up?

when i use gel my hair never seems to spike up, after about 10 minutes it goes down. i have used about 3 different gels and they all dont spike up. people say i have thick hair and my hair is quite short ( long enough to spike). are there any ways i could keep it up? also i gel it about 20 minutes after i get out of the shower but when i touch my hair it feels dry enough. are there any tips to keep the gel up, like a certain way to gel it, i normally just push my fingers up and spike it all??(also i tried using a tonne of gel today and it still popped down)

You hair needs to be dry. And maybe you should even blow-dry or flat iron it first. Get better gel too. Or cut it all off.

Well usually gels arent any good for spiking hair. You should get the Got2B wax. It's really good for spiking. Use it when u come out of the shower, when ur hair isnt dripping wet. This should work great! :D Good luck!

when i did my friend's mohawk i used bed head hair gel which worked well. make sure your hair is dry when you get out of the shower before you apply the gel. after applying the gel, use either mousse or hairspray and blow dry for another 2 minutes or until how stiff you want it. It should hold up.

Go out to walmart or target or even a walgreens or cvs and get this gel called Got 2 be Glued Spiking Glue . Its the strongest stuff I have used, it will come in a yellow tube. If you use it and can't spike with that then you will never be able to spike your hair. I use it when my hair is dry and it works great.
