never use gel when flat ironing hair, very drying, you need to use some sort of silk product. maybe try bio-silk, protects hair and leaves hair very soft and shiny

I generally don't like hair gel because it puts dry flaky gell pieces in my hair and I don't like that. I prefer to use a take the heat type of spray which makes your hair absorb the heat so it holds longer. I like Aussie Take-the-heat maximum hold spray. Make sure you are using a good ceramic straightener. (I like the more expensive Conair ones)

hi i use loreal straighning balm it not only protects your hair it keeps it soft and managable its brilliant and would recommend it to those who have straightner dryers or even using an iron on hair as protects from hair from dryness and damage so there for i would not use gel in my hair
