Yea. Just use some gelatin. But you have to make it like Jello and then wait for it to harden, then use it.

go buy it. the home versions (use by punk rock kids i knew) are basically more than you need, a pain in the *** to apply, and an even bigger pain to get out.

but if there is some kind of life-treatening need to put your hair up. 2 options

1)elmers glue. (its water soluable)

2) egg-whites. (stiff, but it will make your hair brittle)

Actually I don't even have to make it. I almost always have to put something in my hair otherwise it looks so dried out and frizzy that I look worse than the bride of frankenstein!!!

Anywho. Look at the key ingredients on the bottle of your hair gel. Notice any one ingredient in particular that stands out as the main thing it's made of? It's (probably) petroleum jelly. I was using a store-bought bottle of gel and I noticed that there were only three ingredients: petroleum jelly, olive oil, and fragrance.

So I basically quit buying the expensive stuff and switched straight to vasoline or a generic brand of it. I know it probably doesn't sound very appealing to use at first, but it's in almost all of the hair gels in the store name brands and it really works just as good, and actually better in my case because there's no alcohol in it to dry out my hair. And it's just a lot cheaper that way too. Just don't over do it with the petroleum jelly though, a little bit is all you need because it's pretty heavy stuff. Otherwise too much of it can make your hair look really greasy.
