La Bella gel is a really good gel. I don't know if they have it around your area but around here a lot of people use it. It is alcohol free and doesn't flake.

Dove's hair gel works great. I sometimes have to use a lot of product in my hair and dove does not flake or leave a lot of build up. I've given it to a few of my guy friends and they love it, although they'll never admit it [shrug]. Good luck. =)

Try using Fructis Style... I've used alot of different types of gel and so far that has worked the best.... I use the super stiff gel and have little problems with flakes..... Just try not to touch your hair I've noticed thats when I have the most problem with flakes.. Hope it works for you......
