your hair needs to be cut into a similar style as well though. gel is a very heavy product and it doesn't give any volume. this guys hair doesn't look like it has any product in it and that's why it looks so good. gel would make it look heavy and stiff. you can get the products you need for a really low price, just go for another brand.

try the gel but maybe you will need to blow dry to get the separated look.

As a hairdresser I would say , You can always try. I would apply a nickel size to start, rub in hands a good bit and apply to hair. grab your self a blow dryer and blow in direction you want it to go make sure to continue to rub hair while appling heat. good luck.

if you're using it for volume, use a little volume gel, or volume mousse (which is better.) or volume hair spray, in toweled dried hair ( very slightly moist/damp) spray or put in gel, and work it through with your hands, Brush, and blow dry like normal. Brush it, until it's dry throughout.

I've never had problems with creme or gel. If your hair is falling out, perhaps it's a genetic trait within your family. As for keeping it for 2-3 days, of course you can - for months until it is used up. Not sure or why you would ask such a dumb question. Oh well, at least I get 2 points for answering.

it really depends on what chemicals are in them. Most have alcohol in them which can dry your hair out. The best thing to use are creams. I use that new cream from sunsilk (www.gethairapy.com). I also use their shampoos and conditioners. They are awesome. I have curly hair, and it really tames my hair, and keeps the curly light and boucing and soft! I strongly suggest you find a cream instead of gels and mouses... however, if you can't do that... mouse generally works better...

Well, I'm blond so it was really easy for me -- I found a comb with some weird green gel type stuff in the teeth -- clearly really cheap stuff, but it had the desired effect and washed out right away that night. You just comb your hair like normal and the green gel type stuff comes off the comb, little by little, and stays in your hair. Maybe try a Walgreens-Target-Shopko type seasonal aisle? Mine cost like $2.99, but like I said, it did what it was supposed to do, so I really didn't care.

Ingredients:

2 Tbsp Whole Flax Seeds

1 cup water

Pure Aloe Vera Gel, if desired

Few drops of essential oil for scent

Instructions:

Bring water to a boil. Stir the seeds into the water and reduce heat. Simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring constantly, until a gel-like lotion is formed. Strain through a fine strainer or cheesecloth into a small bottle. Add essential oils and store in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. If desired, you can add some pure aloe vera gel for its moisturizing properties. Fill the bottle with flax seed gel until bottle is about 3/4 full, then fill to the top with pure aloe vera gel. Gel will not flake or make the hair hard or crunchy. Safe to use everyday.

If it doesn't hold with a curling iron, you can use Marc Anthony shampoo for curls, it gives it volume and then use the other curl products by him. Another thing you might want to consider is a perm, ask the hairdresser for a loose perm, very loose and if you then want to use a curling iron it will hold the curl.

you may have thin or naturally straight hair which won't hold curls well .i have extremely curly hair and it stays for a long time when i use a curling iron. products cant change your hair, so gel wont make straight hair curly unless you find an amazing product, but i dont know of any. you could try getting a perm? i dont think there are many other options that i can think of though.

About a month ago I came across my old 8th grade picture and my hair looked so hot! It was long, blonde and wavy/ curly (totally all naturaal) I was so sad because over the years I totally fried my hair with dying and straightening. So i decided that I was just going to cut it short and never touch a straightner and blow dryer again until it is my natural color and a long length. One inch of natural hair later, here i am with short ugly half blonde faded brown hair... but anyways i understand that gels with alcohol in them damage the hair, along with any product with alcohol because it drys it out. But what about gels with no alcohol in them? I just started drinking protein shakes everyday also, and I eat spinach and drink water religiously (there my favorite) Why is my hair still growing so slow?

But as far as how fast your hair grows...that's just heredity at work. Personally, my hair grows really fast, which means my roots show up in about 2-3 weeks rather than the 4-6 weeks many people can wait between dye jobs.

So it's not all good...though I won't say it's all bad. But you wouldn't want to deal with the cowlicks I have :)!

i had a stint of like 3 years where my hair didn't seem to grow at all, i freaked and thought it might fall out so i went to the doc and he said hair grows in cycles and 1/3 of the time its growing and 2/3 its a "sleep" he said there is no treatment to make hair grow faster. you can take prenatel vitiams and they will help. but if finally got mine to grow when i started conditioning it every night before i went to bed and then i would rinse it out in the morning. i only shampoo the roots every other day so it doesn't dry it out. and my hair is gorgous. it took it awhile though and to get your color to fade together instead of dying it, try color rinses, it will make the blond slowly turn to light brown. good luck

If i were you i'd probably go for more popular brands; i like using Shockwaves mousse gel. it says its a gel but it comes out as a mousse. You only need to use a little bit and it is lightweight and not greasy/wet looking

It will keep your hair in place and looks good too! Just use a little bit and rub it in your hair with your head upside down;; maybe use a hairdryer to fix it!

if you cant find shockwaves stuff normal mousse that claims to have volume will do!

Depending on what style you are going for, you could go with Herbal Essense Spray Gel, this does not flake or make hard.

However if you are trying to attain a certain style that you actually have to use regular gel to get it to stay, it is going to be hard to find one that does not make it stiff or flake.

A suggestion would be to lesson flaking, don't touch your hair after you fix it. If only flakes if it is messed with. As far as it being hard, well...........to keep the look, it must be hard, otherwise it will fall.Sorry, hope this helped a bit:)

If you don't want to use any products at all, you need to get out of the shower, towel dry your hair, and let it dry naturally and start to love that look because it's yours. Now to go away from the cheesy moments, you could also use leave in conditioner to tame the hair that doens't seem right. Another thing you could do is keep growing your hair for just a little hile longer and hwne it gets long enough, cut it all off and donate it. That would be so sweet of you to do.

Try blowing it straight back off your forehead. Then just spray it a with hairspray. Not too much hairspray, just enough to hold the shape, but still touchable and still moves like nature intended.

Use mousse, then blow-dry. You can get the same volume and definition you want as gel without your hair being sticky or flat against your head. You wouldn't even have to dry it all the way, so it wouldn't look too styled.

Get some mousse made especially for curly or frizzy hair. This stuff is meant to get the hair under control without weighing it down, or "sculpting" it (as you do with gels). You spray some into your palm (it will be a foam) then work little bits of it through your hair over your whole head. Then scrunch your hair up a bit to bring out a curl (if you have curly hair), or comb it into place (if your hair is straight). It will help the hair behave and not be flyaway, and at the same time will not freeze it into any particular style, so the hair can still behave naturally.

The one I use most often is perfect curls by la coupe. If I'm going to be combing my hair instead of encouraging my curls, I use Fructis Style control frizz milk.

You would really like Sebastian Laminates spray. Any kind of spray for flat ironing is the best. So are oil serums. I would not recommend using gel, that may make your hair too crunchy. When I worked in a salon, the African American women loved the sebastian laminates spray.

Perhaps this style isn't condusive to your area? You might check with your hair dresser for a cut that you won't need hairspray...as sprays tend to get gummy when blown out of the original syle and recombed. You might also consider some of the gel products..but with a syle that will still look cute, even wind blown alittle. Other than that,,a scarf when you go out in the wind..Sorry, we girls just can't have everything. I am allergic to sprays and have tried it all...

What kind of shampoo are you using?? If you're using something cheap, you wont' get much results, but if you're using the kind that is supposed to help hair, from damge and split ends ect, then your hair can hold alot easier. I use Dove renewal shampoo and conditioner. It keeps the hair light, so you can do whatever you need to, and it keeps your hair healthy.

If you have short hair, then go for the messy look. It's alot easier to maintain, and you don't really have anything to do to keep it up. Maybe shake your hair every now and then, and scrunch it up.

But if you have long hair, either wear it up in a ponytail, a bun, or just leave it down. But either way you wear your hair, try putting moose in your hair, when it's still wet. Then brush it, and put the brush and some gel in your bag. Then once you get to wherever you're going to, go into the bathroom, grab the brush and wet it, so you can brush your hair to get it wet, and get the gel and style your hair.

Or, if you have long hair, you could style your hair, and hid it under a jacket, or light sweater. don't put a hat on, because then you can end up with hat hair, or it'll make it worse then the wind!

You might want to try some conditioners that weigh your hair down a little. Like the Friz-eez, or frizz repelent. It sounds like your hair might be a little to light, or your not putting enough styler in it.

I have the same problem. It have to take the trolley in the morning to work, and no matter how much I straigthen or style my hair its pointless.

Lately, I just put my hair up with a light clamp clips or use small bobby pins to hold the hair in place. (If youre going to try this, make sure you dont use a tight clip). When I get to work, first thing I do is go to the bathroom and comb my hair and it preserves my hairstyle. I also keep a hairspray in desk drawer at work just in case if there is humidity that day.
