it really depends on what chemicals are in them. Most have alcohol in them which can dry your hair out. The best thing to use are creams. I use that new cream from sunsilk (www.gethairapy.com). I also use their shampoos and conditioners. They are awesome. I have curly hair, and it really tames my hair, and keeps the curly light and boucing and soft! I strongly suggest you find a cream instead of gels and mouses... however, if you can't do that... mouse generally works better...

I would say, use herbal essences shampoos and conditioners to make your hair curly......but they aslo have mouse and gels. they work really good and are inexpensive. these products wont hurt your hair. but be careful with your curling iron if you use one cause you definitely burn your hair and damage it by using that. my straightener ruins my hair but i use it a few times a week anywyas along with herbal essences straightening shampoo and conditioner, hair spray and finishing spray. These products work very well and iwould never use any other brand besides maybe sunsilk
